  • NOT a typical review! Fictional universes. Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.

After two days of intense play in Arcanum and wasting whole trainloads of nerve cells, I managed to dash off a new. Only now everything will be separate.

What do you think, if both magic and technology existed in our world, what would happen?? How would we develop? Would we really be able to bring these two completely different forces into balance??

These are two different elements. One https://nonukonlinecasinos.uk/review/love-casino/ is entirely tailored by the hands of nature, and the other is skillfully constructed by the hands of man. Magic does not obey the laws of gravity and the theory of relativity; magic is capable of completely unpredictable things. Sometimes it is simply impossible to predict how they will affect the world around us. Nature loves variety and illogicality. An example is the same chameleon. Its unique ability to change the color of its scales defies logic. However, these chameleons have been diversified into hundreds, thousands of species. And each genus is unique in its essence.

Arcanum is a world where there are two forces – Magic and Technology. Both are invisibly fighting each other, trying to bend the opponent and bring him underground in human minds. The future of this world is shrouded in the fog of the unknown: What does the future hold for us?? Is there a war waiting for us?? A war between two absolute forces that will plunge Arcanum into chaos and destruction? Anger is growing among the peoples of the lonely continent..

There are seven races living in this world: Humans, Elves, Half-Elves, Dwarves, Dwarves, Half-Orcs, Half-Ogres and Halflings. Arcanum is a single continent, and it is unknown whether any other lands exist. Each race practically split in secret unrest. Many are forced to leave cities to avoid persecution.

Initially, magic dominated the world of Arcanum. But when the first machine appeared, wizards, soothsayers and blacksmiths began to give way to steam machines, airships and airplanes. By 1885, there was no technology capable of protecting soulless machines from the lightning and fireballs unleashed by angry and desperate wizards trying to protect the world from urbanization and the industrial revolution that was already happening right before their eyes.

The airship Zephyr flies from Caladon, the port city-capital of the Kingdom of Ardent, to Tarant, a large metropolis transformed as a result of industrial takeoff. Calm environment.
Suddenly a buzzing noise is heard. Completely incomprehensible buzzing.
Aircraft!
But it’s too late. The defenseless aircraft receives one mortal wound after another, dying under the blows of fighters that the current Arcanum has never seen. People are dying. The airship is losing control..
Only one survived.
He’s rising. Not far away lie the burning wreckage of a zeppelin that crashed to the ground. Below lies a body. A small body trying to crawl away from the smoking skeleton of Zephyr.
A man approaches a dwarf. He sees legs and holds out the ring, muttering incoherently something about the coming of Evil, Horror, which is preparing for a menacing campaign in this world. He is instructed to take the ring to a person who can help..

P.S. For some reason the radio doesn’t work. Half-Life material in progress. There will be a detailed review of Mass Effect and it’s almost ready.
